Lavelle was a pitching coach for the New York Yankees for 5 years. His secondary school-level experience includes Greenbrier Christian Academy coach for 11 years, Private Schools State Coach of the Year 7 times, won 7 State Championships, 2000 New York Penn League Champions, 2002 Eastern League Champions, and coach for the 2004 Eastern League All-Star game.
